NASA L’Space Academy

NASA Proposal and Writing Evaluation Experience (NPWEE)

Learning Outcomes: Learn to effectively write a concept proposal that turns innovative ideas into reality. Gain experience in the process of writing, reviewing, and scoring proposals through the lens of a NASA reviewer. The winning team had their proposal project funded by $10,000.

Project Criteria: Write a seven page proposal for a technology that will solve a NASA pain point and has direct applicability to future missions. This proposal will outline the project timeline, management strategy, risk analysis, performance metrics, and deliverables.

Quad Chart

The initial phase of this academy was to develop a quad chart outlining ideas that we thought would help solve a NASA pain point, up to 4 per team. From those quad charts the NASA team would select which concept each team would follow through with to create a proposal. The Non Destructive Evaluations of Welds on the Moon quad chart is the one I proposed for my team and the Rover Recovery System was the one selected for our team by the NASA team.

 Proposal

Our team’s proposal is linked in the image to the right. This is the full proposal with the exception of personal information and new technology report document.
